Permeable Pavement Master Class Series
Join David Hein, P.Eng., vice president of transportation and principal engineer at Applied Research Associates and chair of the ASCE T&DI Permeable Pavement Structural Design Committee for a comprehensive live and on-demand 4-session master class series exploring the ins and outs of permeable pavement design, construction, and performance.
Miss a lecture? Not a problem! All live online sessions will be recorded and available on-demand so you can learn when you want, and where you want. Registration is limited!
Master Classes
This Master Class Series works through the concepts, design, construction, performance, and real-world applications and studies of permeable pavement with a series of four 1-1.5 hour online presentations and Q&A sessions (4 PDH / 0.4 CEU total) focusing on the following advanced topics.
- June 20th: –Introduction to Permeable Pavement
Brush up on the basics. This webinar explores permeable asphalt, concrete, and interlocking concrete pavement key features and structural comparisons, as well as an introduction to the construction and maintenance best practices, tools, and methodologies.
- July 18th: – Design and Construction of Permeable Pavements
Drive down to the design and construction details. This webinar discusses the structural and hydrological design and construction features, challenges, and application of permeable pavements (porous asphalt, pervious concrete, and permeable interlocking concrete pavements) through real-world worked examples and case studies of permeable pavement designs for roadways and parking areas.
- August 15th: – Impact of Permeable Pavement Design and Construction on Performance
Maximize your performance. This webinar explores the design, specification, and construction elements that may negatively impact the performance of pavements, as well as the primary factors contributing to the long-term functional and structural performance of pavements (e.g., parking lots to highways). Through a series of photographs, positive and negative features are presented for a heightened understanding of what we can do better to ensure cost-effective use of transportation investments.
- September 12th: – Permeable Pavement Live Case Studies: Key Factors in the Design and Construction of Permeable Pavements
Learn from the good, the bad, and the ugly. Join us for an exploration of real-world permeable pavement applications and projects demonstrating permeable pavement design and construction key features and effective application through a series of the good, the bad, and the ugly case studies and photographs. Discussion will focus on the elements, application, and maintenance designed for long-term system performance.
All sessions are presented live and in an on-demand format so you may attend at your leisure, and are accompanied by a quiz to test your skills. Learning on your own at home, live and online, or with a group, Forester University’s Master Class Series is designed as an interactive experience with the leading experts in the field.
