Landfill Gas to Energy Projects: An Air Permitting Perspective
In today's economic environment, firms more than ever are looking to streamline their operations, minimize costs, and reduce delays. As alternative energy is becoming increasingly popular and profitable, many firms are finding that air permitting can have significant impacts on these goals.

Join Kay Gilmer of Cornerstone Environmental Group LLC for a discussion of air quality New Source Review (NSR) permitting, the issues, and recommendations for early project planning tools to minimize unexpected project delays resulting from NSR permitting requirements. Through a discussion of landfill gas to energy (LFGTE) examples, Gilmer will guide the audience through the key points of New Source Review (NSR) as they pertain to an alternative energy project and illustrate how this air permitting program can have very significant impacts on a project’s budget and schedule.  Too often these impacts go unidentified until too late into the project’s development to allow for effective decision making. This presentation illustrates how an early assessment of air quality permitting and regulatory requirements can guide the project’s planning phase and beyond.

Attending this Webcast you will take away a clear understanding of how key terms within the NSR program are defined and what are important to project planning.  You will be provided a detailed guide to conducting one of the most important steps in the project, the development of a Facility-Wide Emissions Inventory, and what the results can tell you.  Most importantly, you will walk away with an understanding of your options in terms of project design, operation and permitting that can assist you in any project planning you may undertake.
