Cornerstone Environmental Group, LLC. Vice President, Mike Michels, brings 30 years of experience as a solid waste consultant and a Landfill Gas Manager. Across his career, Mike has designed over 200 LFG collection or control systems, as well as helping start and/or operate over 75 LFG to energy projects.
Currently, Mike is responsible for quality of all solid waste projects throughout Cornerstone Environmental Group, LLC. In addition, Mike also manages several air and LFG design, operations and energy projects.
Education
Mike is a 1980 graduate of Michigan Tech University and a registered professional engineer in Wisconsin, Georgia, Kentucky, and New York.
Professional Affiliations
Mike is a member of SWANA, Past Director of SWANA’s Landfill Gas Technical Division, and recent board of Director for the Wisconsin Chapter of SWANA.
Mike is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and has received awards for his work from the American Society of Professional Engineers. Mike served at the requEDT of Wisconsin Governor Doyle on the Solid Waste Task Force.
Mike has widely published his air and landfill gas work in technical papers, and magazines such as Waste Age, MSW Management, American City and County, and Solid Waste Technologies.
