Wireless Technology Lets Managers Control Fuel, Eliminate Unauthorized Use

Waste Expo, 2008, booth #4363

OEM Data Delivery (“OEM DD”), a manufacturer of passive technology to manage workers, equipment and other critical jobsite assets, introduces a wireless device that allows foremen or site managers to track and control the dispensing of fuel and other consumables.

GoPOD Fuel is a tiny, concealed computer that installs quickly in lube and fuel trucks, low boy trucks, and mechanics’ vehicles. A second version, configured slightly differently, is installed at fuel stations.

GoPOD Fuel consists of a Radio Pump Tracker, GPS radio antennas, and a display touch screen for data entry. Information critical to efficient operation and planning is collected passively, and transmitted via secure radio link. Information includes equipment hours and location, work and idle logs, and fuel dispensed, per vehicle unit. Data is formatted, downloaded into reports, and made available nightly on a password-protected website, or email. Collected Information integrates easily with major back office management systems. There is never an interruption of equipment operation, and collection is both wireless and “hands-free,” so no operator intervention is needed.

GoPOD Fuel has the ability to markedly improve the productivity of landfill and construction operations, by eliminating the manual, (and mistake-prone) task of capturing operations information.

GoPOD Fuel also facilitates more accurate job accounting, and optimizes equipment maintenance by providing a tool for fuel-based maintenance. It is a powerful and effective tool for preventing the theft, or unauthorized movement, of high-value assets, as well as the theft of fuel. At $120 per barrel (as of April 29, 2008), this is critical for the effective control of fixed costs.

GoPOD Fuel was engineered for the rugged working environment of landfills and construction. Units are available with or without data entry screens, depending on individual customer’s needs. This wireless, automated solution is both leaner and more useful than devices that are limited to traditional GPS capabilities.
